Self Sacrifice
My steps echoed into the empty blackness of the night. Lightning flashed all around me, the thunder was inaudible over the sound of my music. The city swayed as I walked, lights dimly flashing through the dense rain. I didn't know where I was walking, I just knew to keep going forward. My thumb caressed the clip of my knife, which was tucked safely in my pocket. My phone vibrated in my pocket constantly, probably my parents and friends wondering where I was. I didn't answer, mainly because I didn't really know where I was either, and I had no idea why I'd walked here in the first place. Sometimes, this happened to me, but never this bad. I
